Hi, we're tiffany +tabatha

Blogging is a pretty cost-effective way to scale up your business’s marketing efforts, and drive traffic to your website. But yet, so many businesses don’t take advantage of it. Business owners are often shocked when we mention blogging to them as a marketing tactic they should be implementing in their business. But why blog?

Blogging is outdated. Blogging is nothing but a dead end. The only people updating a blog these days are social media influencers, right? You couldn’t be more wrong!

So how can your business reap the benefits of blogging? Let’s find out.

Blogging Builds Trust

Imagine you have a brick and mortar business located on the busiest street in downtown. You have customers walking in the door, but they’re wondering, how can they trust your business and your product? Well, they’re most likely going to start a conversation with you where you’ll probably give them advice about something. Even if they don’t purchase from you the first time they walk inside of your shop, if you give them good advice, they will return back to your shop and realize they can trust you.

The same thing happens online with your website. Instead of having someone sitting there answering questions when someone comes to your site, your potential customers head to your blog looking for answers. When you use your blog to share tips, tricks, and insights on your services or products, it helps you develop credibility and build trust.

If you want potential customers or clients to take you seriously, either in person or online, you have to earn their trust. Sharing your first hand expertise on your blog allows you to do just that.

When we started Twinning Pros, our main priority was to help small businesses understand marketing, provide transparency to the industry, and help them grow their businesses online. We saw so many businesses get taken advantage of by larger marketing companies because they just didn’t understand what they were doing or paying for. So we make it a point in our blog and our social media channels to introduce tools, tricks and resources businesses can use to build their brands. By doing this, we are able to build trust with our audience.

Blogging Positions You As An Expert

The more you share your first-hand experience and expertise, the more you’ll build up authority and credibility, to be able to position yourself as an expert in your field.

Not only do we offer “done for you“ services for our clients, but we’re also able to offer:

  • Free and paid trainings
  • Consulting services
  • Online Courses
  • Coaching
  • Speaking engagements

… and more

But, we wouldn’t be able to do any of this if we weren’t seen as experts in our field. Just last week we hosted an event called SEO for the Solopreneur for the members over at Six Degrees Society to help entrepreneurs better understand SEO and how to do it themselves.

By sharing your expertise through your blog, you never know what kind of opportunities may come up.

Blogging Increases Your SEO

What exactly is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it’s basically the process to optimize your website to show up for the search engines.

All you’re doing with SEO is creating clues for search engines to help them understand your business better and make it easier for people to find the resources they’re looking for online, within seconds.

So what type of content is Google trying to keep track of from your website? Oh only…

  • the unique site address (your URL)
  • the title of your website
  • how many pages are on your site
  • The type of content you have on your site
  • All of the images on your site
  • Any internal and external links to and from your site
  • And so much more!

Trying to understand SEO can get complicated pretty quickly. So the one thing you need to know is the more you share relevant, in-depth content, keyword friendly content on your site, the higher your site is going to rank in the search engines.

So that makes blogging the most organic way to boost your website’s SEO. And you know us, we love organic marketing!

You Own The Rights To Your Blog, It Can’t Be Taken From You

We love free ways to share our content, and social media is a great way to do just that! But what happens if your Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Twitter accounts were gone tomorrow? Then what?

Remember the panic across the web in October when all of the Facebook owned apps went down for the day?

How will your audience find you if this happened again? Or if your accounts get hacked or removed from the platform? We had an incident with Instagram where our account was removed, and it was a 3 month process to prove we owned the account and it was an actual business account. It was such a nightmare!

But, as we don’t keep all of our eggs in one basket, we didn’t lose our entire audience by only focusing on an Instagram strategy. When we post on our website, we are in control of what we post, and we own the content. It’s the same reason why it’s important to build up your email list, you earned the followers, and it can’t be taken away from you.

Blogging Gets More Visitors to Your Site

According to Hubspot, Businesses that blog get 55% more website visitors than businesses that don’t. That’s huge! I don’t know about you, but I want to get as many visitors to my website as possible. More visitors means more potential customers, so sign me up for that!

I think we’ve come to realize that people want to learn more about brands and businesses through other ways besides ads. Don’t get me wrong, ads can be a great way to boost traffic to your website in a quick way, but when the ad spend is gone, so are the leads!
